In the recent weeks road works has been ongoing extending the asphalt road from the Texaco station in andwest up to the Hengill Water Reservoir where it ends in a parking space.
From there a dirt road has been laid winding across the plain in Hengill over to Skomrak where it cross straight over to Badr Jabaal. Here it stops under a steep cliff, but with a 4WD it should be possible to pass over and take the path down to Murat River.
UPDATE: The road has now reached Murat River after climbing the steep Badr Jabaal.
